  1. Moderately (but not totally) insulted that it looks so close to Tom Whalen’s work for the Peanuts posters. But hey, it has enough difference that it won’t ultimately bother me.

  2. I totally agree with Steve. Except for the “enough difference” part.

  3. It seems like Dark Hall Mansion tends to set their prices a bit higher than most everybody else would for similar prints. I’ll bet that regular would be a $50 print from Mondo, not $65.

  4. If you want a Whalen, just have Whalen do the work. Whalen-lite ain’t gonna cut it.

  5. These Peanuts print are cool, but I think that the next artist needs to re-imagine Charlie Brown in a totally different way to avoid Tom comparisons. You could do like a more painterly expressionistic rendering of the gang…

  6. i do hope they use whalen on a future peanuts print, continue the series please

  7. These new Whalens rule!!!

  8. I love the print. I betcha Whalen will do an Easter print (I hope).

  9. Sad copy of a Whalen… Need more Whalen!

  10. Graphic designers bite more than graffiti artists. Is anybody original anymore?

  11. Too many dickriders here, no? Do u guys really believe whalen was the first to use that vector heavy style? Poor guy turns out a beauty of a print but gets killed by people who probably couldnt name 5 artists outside of the mondo circle.

  12. I really like this poster. The style actually seems like a very nice cartoon/comic/Peanuts style already without the Whalen influence.

  13. Best Mondo drop this year!

  14. Was kinda hoping for a Jay Shaw MLP Martin Luther King Day print. :(

  15. Yeah, what Beans said!

It’s a beautiful print and Whalen doesn’t have sole claim to a style that goes back a long way

  16. So, the top one isn’t Whalen? I thought the other artist did the bottom.

And while I agree that Whalen isn’t the first to use vectors, is this the same printer that has been doing the other Charlie Brown images? In which case it’s shitty I suppose…unless maybe Whalen was to busy and they wanted to have another print in the set that matches the others. Or a bunch of other reasons may be understandable.

I guess if we see another Whalen print of good ol’ Charlie Brown, we’ll know he didn’t get boned.

If any of this makes sense I don’t know…I;m looking out the window at a ton of snow and it’s distracting me….
