  1. This is best of series. Can’t find anything wrong w it. Uncle Sam is dressed up like a China man. Even better.

  2. Great poster. One of Shep’s better ones in a long time….

  3. Oh for F*cks sake….!

Does anyone still really buy into this guys schtick??

  4. @ PIGCITY
All the time. Shep is a real rockin rolla. Poster master of disaster!!

Yeah it confuses me that people still buy his shit. The words hack and one trick pony come to mind when viewing his garbage

  6. Lol!!! To all the haters.

  7. Pish. One trick pony? Hack, you say? Can you name one other successful artist of any prolific output who could’t be accused of the same by your standards?

Try directing your hate into your own art and maybe one day you can show Shep and the rest of us how it’s done. Maybe you’ll be so great we’ll take the time to hate on you.

    I’m just re-posting this, because it’s perfect.

  9. Honestly, this poster has plenty wrong with it. Look at the ugly flower renderings and lazy mirroring. Shep isn’t the most talented artist, but at this skill level this couldn’t have taken more than 10 minutes to create.

There’s no shortage of lousy art in the world, and I don’t begrudge him his fame. But Shepard Fairey is a known and unrepentant art thief. For that reason alone his trite shit should be stamped deep into the ground.

  10. Funny, you don’t see anywhere near the vitriol aimed at Mr. Brainwash with his drops, a guy who self-defines unrepentant art thief. His last drop was a shot of a download time lapse bar straight from a CPU screen AND he charges exponentially more than Shep per print. Just sayin’…

Art shouldn’t necessarily be about time invested or method. However you may not have noted that Shepard was approached by Neil Young to make a 12 piece set to accompany each song from his recent album of reinterpreted american folk classics, of which this is one. I would consider that a challenging task for any artist and I personally think he did a great job, as would I assume does Neil Young (who Shep was probably most worried about impressing).

The only reason I can think of for anyone to want to stamp out a specific artist’s work, especially with such hate, is because they fear what what that artist has to say.

Art is an expression to which we are each entitled to. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it, comment respectfully if you feel the need, and go support an artist you do like. There’s plenty of options out there for everyone.
…and go get yourself a hug!

  11. Ummmmm….it’s a poster. “Hate” and comments galore. Wow…get a hobby or donate some of that speech writing time to a good cause..and no self hugs, hippies. Get a job or do a better job.
