“Flora” and “Fauna” Art Print Set by Jacob Van Loon (Onsale Info)

Jacob Van Loon has been marinating under the radar for awhile now, quietly honing his craft and readying his first art print release. His abstract linework is pretty mindblowing, I think he could be an exciting new asset to the print scene. “Flora” and “Fauna” is a set of two 18″ x 24″ screenprints. They come in two colorways (each with an edition of only 33), and will cost $45/pair. They go up tomorrow (Friday, June 17th) at 2pm Central Time. They’ll be available at JacobVanLoon.com and Postersandtoys.com.

EDIT: Please note that the post previously said July 17th. The print actually comes out tomorrow (June 17th). They will be signed/numbered from both websites.

  1. Jacob is one of the most exciting new artists I’ve seen over the past year.

  2. I would like them even more without the text

    I wouldn’t say he’s a “new artist” but I would agree he’s got serious talent 🙂

  4. I’ve worked with Jacob for a while now, and he is not only easy to work with, but his artwork is extraordinary.

  5. one of my favorite prints of late.

  6. He’s not “new” in the sense of “he’s never done this before,” but more like he’s starting to get his footing now that he’s graduated and focused. I can’t wait to see what else he comes up with.

  7. Looks wonderful.

  8. Typo watch… it says July instead of June on the post

  9. I second that emotion, Jay! The kid’s got mad skillz, as evidenced by the Lifeforce poster he did for Mondo. He certainly excels in attn to detail and let’s all hope he continues to turn out such killer work!

  10. Stunning linework. I’m usually not a fan of abstract, but I’m loving the gritty ornate aspect of these. I agree with Mosca in that these are strong enough without the type. Don’t care too much for Futura, but that’s nitpicking. Great work and looking forward to seeing future releases from Jacob.

  11. Sorry to ask a noobish question but… Is there a difference between silk screen printing and screen printing?
Wikipedia tells me that they are the same but I’m curious as to why the description of this print says screen print and most every other description specifies silk screen print…

  12. Nav, yes, they are the same. I almost never use the world silkscreen, just don’t like it.

  13. I suppose if this is the biggest decision that I have to make today then I should consider myself very lucky:)

  14. […] thanks to Mitch from OMG Posters for giving me a heads up about these absolutely amazing “Flora” and “Fauna” art prints by Jacob van Loon. I completely agree with Mitch when he says that Jacob’s abstract linework […]
