“Rollins 81″ Art Print by Shepard Fairey (Onsale Info)

Shepard Fairey (in collaboration with photographer Glen E. Friedman) has another Henry Rollins art print coming out, this one is actually pretty awesome.  “Rollins 81″ is an 18″ x 24″ screenprint, has an edition of 450, and will cost $80.  It goes up Sunday, February 13th at a random time.  Visit ObeyGiant.com.

  1. Does Rollins have Shep kidnapped somewhere and wont release him until he does ten prints of him or something

  2. UGLY!

  3. I mean, this one is better than the last, but 80 for this seems a bit steep to me. 40 and maybe I pick one up, but 80 is just crazy. Yet another pass from OBEY.

  4. Much better. I will actually try for this. First shot for me at a fairey print.

  5. big Rollins fan here…. got to see BF numerous times as a kid. Want it

  6. Wow…im gonna try for this……this is the best fairey Rollins print yet

  7. I like it and will probably try for it, but I just feel it could be better. The picture they’ve used could, if not for the tattoos, just be 1 of 100 hardcore punk singers. I just wish they had gone for a more Rollins looking photo of Rollins. If that makes sense.

  8. Yes, this is ugly. Please do not try for this. You do not want it.

  9. FYI to the dude complaining about the price being a “crazy” $80 – it’s signed by Fairey, Friedman and Rollins, all of whom need to get paid.

  10. I’ve never purchased a Fairey print. I don’t think this will be my first. Good luck to those who want one.

  11. @Brett I stand by my statement. 80 bucks for this is just not worth it. Rollins tour prints are signed by both him and Fairey. Only difference here is he is actually paying the photographer for rights, but I seriously doubt he is getting that huge of a cut making the thing an 80 buck print.

To you it may be worth it, which is cool. To me there are plenty of other prints out there that I would much rather pick up than this.

  12. ….bringing it all back to the only reason these prints are being produced is to get paid and is why the quality of his work has decreased….I dont even like to say “his” work because your buying OBEY the brand, not shepard fairey the artist….let it rain down on me shepard fairey fans lol

  13. @jao AMEN to that….Haven’t bought a fairey print in a couple of years, guy fell off hard. Maybe his payroll is too big. His clothes carry better designs than his art these days, how does that even happen when you’re an artist?

  14. @jao: only this:

    “you’re”.

    Thanks!

  15. nothing new here.
    pass again for me.
Is this guy ever going make anything that is interesting ever again?
And yes 80 is too expensive.
    New Jack poster.

  16. Once again I find myself taking umbrage w/ Shep’s anatomical discrepencies. The arm appears to be detached from the torso w/ the excessive shadow. Other than that, it does resemble the photo. Man, that’s what I call a turtle neck.

  17. Not a fan of the artist, but this print being signed by three folks justifies $80, IMHO.

  18. Can you say Henry “Quasimoto” Rollins?

  19. Shep’s stuff doesn’t always knock me out, but I really like this one.

  20. up now.

  21. Hot Print! Don’t miss this one. I didn’t. Worth it for the rock and roll signature alone. But it’s got all three. Go Shep!

  22. 3 have already sold on the Bay for $160-175. So much for the lukewarm interest in this print.

  23. After Hope Shep shits gold.
Fuck the new jack prints post hope.
Im stickin with my old shep collection and moving on to the next artist, there too many to spend too much time on just one guy/style.

  24. Intrest is always peaked in the beginning.
