“Lucky Me” Art Print by Jacob Bannon

  2. I gotta say something about the use of the phrase or word SILK in silkscreen. I might sound foolish but, I’m a trade certified screen printer in Australia. The days of using Silk for screen mesh is long gone and to have done this print with real silk mesh would have cost a lot and I think the prints would have to be sold for more than $40 US each to cover the cost of the silk mesh. remember we are talking about a natural mesh made from silk worms here.
    The polyester mesh we use today is stronger, more durable and maintains better tension + hold finer detail in the stencil.
    So could some one mention where they sourced the silk mesh from, as I doubt it is looking at the print quality. Or stop using the word Silkscreen. Yes It is a very fine looking screen-print. Nuf said!
