  1. Tried, but failed as usual. At least I got to the mailing option before it was gone. There must be some kine of computer program the flippers are using since I hit this within 1-2 seconds of the drop. Need their evil tech.
    Boo hoo.

  2. Sold out.

  3. Horkey is one of my all time favs. Totally in his own league. I have never seen one in person, so maybe someone can explain why it takes 14 colors to make a largely monochromatic image? This is in no way a diss…

  4. Thanks Mondo! Great year in product.

  5. Honestly, this makes around the twentieth Mondo poster I’ve tried for and missed, many of which I was online for at the moment of release. Can someone please explain this business model. I get that they’re meant to be prestigious, but seriously! Would it be so bad to offer a “second” edition or a giclee or something. This coming from someone who just honestly wants them to be appreciated on his wall. Mondo is making me roll my eyes at them lately rather than get hyped. I would not be surprised to find out that the majority now go to friends and flippers, rather than an actual audience.

  6. @Fake Ryan – The short answer is shading. I have a couple Horkey prints and they appear monochrome but a the detail shows off the slight differences in color that makes his work look so three dimensional.

  7. I did not realize he was doing more of these, I guess he will do a third in a year or less?

  8. I have 3 color Horkey’s that still look phenomenal. 14 just adds to the value scale and collectability. Plus Horkey does pretty much everything by hand from what I’ve seen either hand drawing on transparencies or even cutting rubylith so a lot of that kind of process leads to not really knowing how many colors you are going to end up with by the time you are finished. This one is crazy cause Horkey hardly ever draws people…1 other time I can think of was the “there will be blood” poster but thats it out of his whole catalog. He’s shaking it up a little and getting out of his comfort zone on this one.

  9. I feel bad for Adam Simpson showing a super smart poster for Home Alone but getting the subheading in the same post as Horkey lord of the rings drop.

Its like the sword playing a set right after slayer.
