  1. Tong’s JP reminds me of a Disneyland poster, and I like it.

  2. glad to have scored the Tong off Mondo…
KT’s personal stash will prolly sell for 3 times as much…fuck that

  3. @cardhawks What’s wrong with an artist making some extra scratch on a piece that was in high demand? Strikes me as simple economics in making the price higher.

I know. Ive been buying prints off EBay lately and never in my life ever going to score what I want off Mondo. I want the Whalen reg, but, FUCK THAT!
Too much spending. Need me a break from the Vulturez.

  5. I guess it’s just how needy the artist is… or maybe it’s just the thought process… I believe it was Fairey that said he could get more for his prints but he wanted to keep them affordable for the young people to afford them.

I’m not sure if “needy” is the right word. I mean, if this is their sole source of income, a fair markup for the APs is more than acceptable. Heck, they’d be silly not to. Besides, I’d rather give my hard-earned cash to the artist rather than a flipper. But that’s just me.

As for Fairey, I’ve never been much of a fan, but I do respect the fact that he’s kept his prints affordable. That being said, his net worth is around 15 million. At this point, he can afford his ideology. I’m not sure Mr. Whalen or Mr. Tong can say the same.

  7. I do not know if any of you guys realize that you can purchase TW’s APs or a matter of fact any APs from the artist if you contact him and get on his list. I have purchased many that way without paying on the 2nd hand market. There are always APs and it seems like they run around 10% to 15% of the print run. So, that is another chance.
