Ken Taylor’s Bill Hicks Print and Shepard Fairey’s “They Live” Poster (Onsale Info)
The Alamo Drafthouse will release Ken Taylor’s Bill Hicks art print tomorrow. It’s an 18″ x 24″ screenprint, has an edition of 200, and will cost $30. In addition, there will be some copies of Shepard Fairey’s “They Live” poster available (image has not been released, nor has info, but you can get an in-progress peek and a video from John Carpenter below). Both go up tomorrow (Friday, June 10th) at a random time. Visit Mondotees.com.
Please note, this is only an in-progress photo of part of the design:
Hicks was sent by higher beings to help squeejey our third eyes and see the world for what it truly is. He remains one of the greatest comedians – to ever walk the earth. Taylor’s depiction is spot on, I really hope I get one of these. But if not I might even be tempted by the flipper fees to get hold of one. Dying to see the detail in the background!
Been hoping we’d get a Hicks print for a while and it’s done by none other than the awesome Ken Taylor! Hicks was more than just a comedian, he was a minor prophet in my opinion. If only he were still alive today, I would be laughing my ass off while also getting an education. One of my personal heroes and I will be proud to have this hanging on my wall.
Going for a Hicks for a friend and They Live for myself.
Can’t even imagine how the prices will range for flippers on eBay tonight after the screening.
@JZA – you’re right dude, he was a prophet. Truly inspirational.
Bill Hicks rules. Guess I gotta get the print! Hope it doesn’t sell out instantly.
which one will flip better, ken or shep?
i thought all of sheps art was based on they live? excited to see this…
