“Ali” Art Print by Shepard Fairey (Onsale Info)

This, my good friends, is definitely my favorite Obey print in a year or more.  “Ali” is an 18″ x 24″ screenprint, has an edition of 450, and will be $70.  It goes up tomorrow (Thursday, May 13th) at 11am Pacific Time.  Visit ObeyGiant.com.

  1. Oh wow that is nice. OBEY IN QUITE GOOD PRINT SHOCKER!

  2. Give me one reason to stay here…

  3. I thought it was Little Richard at first glance. He appears to have a massive quiff….I have trouble telling where the hair ends and the texture starts.

  4. I like this meditative / no shield Ali…
even though I have been told not to purchase Sheps… this is nice.

  5. This is nice as a piece of art, but I don’t think it’s easily recognizable as Ali.

  6. Bad idea to give a specific time for this drop. Random time is so much better. Obey will probably be crawling come 11 am PST tomorrow. It is gonna be near impossible to score.

  7. Agreed, wonder why he’s been doing random drops but set a specific time for this bad boy. The site is probably gonna be more backed up than it has been in a long while.

  8. the face remind me of tracy chapman :) i miss the old anti-war prints of fairey

  9. The texture is amazing. But the vector is porely done. You would have to be told that this is Ali. I THINK if you do one of the icons, make sure you nail them right.(pause)
I can’t wait for shep to come out with some Cope2 collabo or some anti war stuff again.
    Just not my taste, sorry.

  10. This is Ali in his old age. Not the young Ali.
Sorry to all the folks that can’t handle that since they are used to seeing him as a young energetic and outspoken fighter.
    It definitely resembles him now.

  11. this wil be a slam dance with the announced drop time

  12. I agree with Taso…this IS what Ali looks like now. In fact, it’s pretty damn spot on. Looking at Fairey’s last Ali print, the difference between the old man and his former self is really striking.

  13. Nobody wants the down and out Ali. This is a depressing print.

  14. I adore this – I love the texture and choice of colors.
    Stunning

  15. Nobody wants the down and out Ali. This is a depressing print

    ………….thats life

  16. …..and also false.

Plenty of people have expressed interest in the print because not only is it one of the technically better Fairey prints, it actually captures an emotion in time that is worth putting up on your wall (or mine…I shouldn’t speak in generalities)

  17. captures an emotion – - life is beautiful

  18. His “random” drops tend to be around 11am (PST ) anyways….

  19. Got one! Snatch!

  25. How do you even get a Fairey poster! I can never get to check out! It always stays your cart is empty, even when I just clicked the buy now!!! MAN!

  26. That was horrible. I took a beating today. Negative results for me. I’m pretty bummed :(

  27. missed out but got damn close – next time obey

  28. Joe – Can you explain about bypassing paypal ?

  29. So what photo did he steal this image from?

  30. I believe credit is given to the photographer. Do yer homework, you crazy Flipper, you!

  31. LOL it was more like, shep can’t draw his way out of a paperbag, where did he get the image from.

  32. haha ShepFlipper, you always make my day. I think it’s safe to say, he’s the most successful tracer in our time.
