“180 South” Poster by Shepard Fairey (Onsale Info)

Shepard Fairey was asked to create a poster for “180 South”, a new film that traces Yvon Chouinard (founder of Pataognia) and Doug Tomkins’ (founder of The North Face) 1968 journey across South America.  This one is an 18″ x 24″ screenprint, has an edition of 450, and will be $50.  It is signed by both Fairey and Chouinard, and it goes up today (Friday, April 16th) at a random time.  Visit ObeyGiant.com.

  1. I wonder whose picture he stole for this one?

  2. Back to the great days Shep ?

  4. I’ve never attempted to flip a print before, but I
    A) Enjoy a good deal of Shep’s work and
    B) don’t have anything to do today.

How easy/lucrative is it to try to flip a print? Is there any how-to? I buy some prints for myself, but wouldn’t be opposed to trying to make some money for things like this.

  5. just read Shep’s rant against Ebayers on the site, sort of makes me feel bad, though I’ve paid for his work on other occasions just for myself. Really I’m just broke right now and was thinking about a get-rich-quick scheme, though Shep may have shamed me out of the thought.

  6. I can dig it.

  7. is that mountain in the background floating?? ;]

kidding. im digging this print too.

  8. Poster for new season of HBO Deadwood? :)

  9. nice

    very nice

  10. I love the horse. Great print Shep!

  11. An actual print that Shep’s been part of that I can begin to say that I can like/appreciate. It’s not amazing but it’s defiantly better than half of the “trash” I’ve seen coming from him in recent times.

  12. Looking good. I gotta give props for this print. Well done Shep.

  13. Yeah not gonna shit on this one for sure. It’s nothing I’m interested in (print wise at least) but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
Now please Shep, for the sake of all things artistic, do not follow this up with “UPSIDE DOWN OBEY GIANT FACE”. K?

  14. They are up in case anyone is reading this right now. Have a good weekend OMG

  15. got one! they are live now! great looking print, and very cool movie

  16. Nice print for sure. Not cool enough to hang on my wall. Have to pass on this one. The tracking on the last S in represas bothers me.

  17. Just for fun, I’ll reiterate what I said somewhere else.

Not a 100% dis on this print, but look at the 2 popular releases today.

This, with a run of 450, which Shep probably didn’t even design (only half jokin) for $50. Or Millard’s, with a run of 30, in which he puts a personal touch on each unique print for $50. Which would you spend your hard earned money on?

  18. On sale now

  19. Re: 413

Well, since I really wanted one of the Millard prints from today… but they were SOLD OUT by the time I got to check (I have others of his too) I decided that my hard-earned money would be spent on this print… I would have bought both thought if I could.
If anyone bought #1 or #9 and wants to sell it… let me know..

  20. I bought the rene print today – Much smaller run and more fun.

  21. yep, hate this style. miss the old stuff :(

  22. Hey Ben, #1 is one of the two (the other being #12) that are up in the sale/trade section at expressobeans.
