New Movie Posters from The Alamo Drafthouse

The Alamo Drafthouse just dropped two amazing new movie posters.  First up is Dan McCarthy’s “The Lost World” (the original film, not the Jurassic Park sequel).  It’s a 12″ x 36″ screenprint, has an edition of 400, and is $35.  The other is Alan Hynes’ poster for “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans”.  It’s a 24″ x 36″ screenprint, has an edition of 160, and is also $35.  Both of these should look great in person.  Visit Mondotees.com.

  1. LOST WORLD- yes…+1

  2. +1! Two McCarthys in one day! That’s good stuff.

  3. Steve..what was the second mccarthy

  4. Joe-the second McCarthy will (likely) be released today. His April print…hasn’t been dropped yet, but Dan said he’d post the creative today.

  5. ahhh sweet.

  6. had to grab up a lost world. yuuuup.

  7. Not that it really matters, but is the original considered the 1925 version, or the 1960 version? IMDB says they’re both based off the same book.

  8. Pretty nice print

    SOLD OUT!

  9. That Lost World print is sublime. Ordered one this morning. Thanks for the heads up!

  10. The ONE day I get to sleep in…. guess on the bright side I saved $35 :/

  11. You saved $49.60. That shipping and handling was a b1tch.

  12. I don’t think I’ll ever see the day that Mondo has something in stock for more than an hour.

  13. I guess I need to start check OMG BEFORE I leave for work in the morning.

  14. I like the Bad Lieutenant print but just have anywhere to hang 24×36

  15. IMO,…Mondo shouldve done up a Harvey Kitel Bad Lt. Poster. Does the sequal even hold up to the orig? i bet not.

  16. You’d lose that bet. It’s a better movie.

    Herzog>Ferrara

  17. And it’s not a sequel.

  18. god damn it mitch…

  19. the next thing you’ll try to sell me is that Cage is better than Kitel right? WRONG.

  20. THE LOST WORLD is the 1925 silent film. We did a screening of it at SXSW this year with a live score. It was really amazing.

And seriously, BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS is the REAL DEAL. Like I said in the blog post, I’ve seen it at least 6 times now and it’s genius. I want to see more Herzog/ Cage collaborations.

Thanks for everyone that bought stuff this morning!

  21. What difference does that make? One is a better movie, and one has Keitel’s dong in it.

Instead of making predictions about the quality of Herzog’s work, why not watch the movie and then deliver your opinion.

  22. Hynes is a master of design. That typography is beautiful.. Wish I had the space.

  23. Well this has been an informative thread; i’m inspired to actually watch the Herzog/Cage “Bad Lieutenant”.

    @mk –
While it’s not routine yet, I’ve tried to make checking OMG a part of my morning “getting ready” ritual. It definitely makes a difference.

    @Justin-
That’s awesome; a couple of October’s ago FilmStreams in Omaha had a screening of “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” accompanied with a live score, definitely a treat…

  24. Thanks for the heads up about these. I managed to grab The Lost World one this morning. More Dan McCarthy dino prints always make me happy.

  25. Hey “Just Me”, you’re from Omaha? Have we ever met?

  26. @mitch –

We have not. Perhaps you’d recognize my name from my P&T orders (you just recently mailed out Olly’s “Master Race”) , but that’s about it… This does make me wonder, though, were you at the Mogwai show at the Slowdown last year?

  27. Sure was, we’ll have to meet up sometime.

  28. Awesome; I may be repeating myself from older posts, but it was entirely because of Drew’s posters at that show that I got mixed up in all this craziness. His “show edition” sold out before I could snag one; and that led me online to hunt one down. That night, amongst other sites, I discovered EB, GigPosters, PostersAndToys, and OMG.

  29. Got my copy of the Lost World print from Dan this week. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
