The Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds

Back when it was being promoted, some of the people behind Inglourious Basterds teamed up with Upper Playground to create a number of commissioned pieces based on the film.  The resulting batch of artwork included images by Alex Pardee, Sam Flores, David Choe, and about 10 others, and none of them ever saw the light of day.  Now, they will be released as VERY limited art prints to benefit the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.  Each print will have a tiny edition of 6, they will be signed by Quentin Tarantino, and they will be priced at $300.  All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.  They will become available tomorrow (Thursday, February 18th) from 6pm-9pm at the Los Angeles Upper Playground store (125 E. 6th St.).  For more info, visit UpperPlayground.com.

  1. this is very dope work, it is a sham they don’t take web orders. deff diggin’ that pardee piece.

  2. Agreed, wish they did web orders because that Pardee is amazing. Sigh, wish i never saw it, would be a lot easier to deal with.

  3. I was on Expedia pricing flights to LA when I heard about this :)

  4. Loving N8’s piece. Sam’s is pretty rad too, to bad ‘Inglourious’ is misspelled on it

  5. Dude, Pardee’s, N8’s and Munk ONe.. Thumps up!!! THe rest are pretty awesome too!!

  6. wow, wow, wow, wow…

  9. waaaaa, these are fantastic. Love that first one! but really a lot of great designs in this group.

  10. Thought it was hopeless but now I have someone who will be there who is going to try and snag me a Pardee. I hope that pans out. That needs to be on my wall.

  11. agree with all of you.
    wow.
    I want one :(

  12. Wow! Those are all amazing!

  13. A lot of these are REALLy good. The Hitler bullseye one is my fav.

  14. These are great – so desireable, collectable, and all for a good cause. Who is the genius that put a cap on the price? At 6 copies per poster, I’m thinking an auction would have brought in some real money

  15. Pardee and Choe sold out first I guess but I was able to secure a Jeremy Fish! so stoked!

  16. haha, i LOVE these posters, and i LOVE this movie!!!

  17. Is that last one Skinner?

  18. why does the last one have falcor from the neverending story on it?

  19. Auction is a brilliant idea. Will the authors release unsigned (at least by QT) versions of these? I’d love to get my hands on a few…

  20. Where’s the tyler stout version?

  21. Beautiful designs, would love to snag one

  22. Inglorious Bastards great scene work totally preposterous script a true shrine to making money from violence with no redeeming values. What a waste of talent.

  23. These are all really good! =] But I can’t get past the wrong spelling which I’m surprized that nobody else has mentioned. “Basterds” = “Bastards” *Will stop being so anal now* =p

  24. I really love the Jeremy Fish one (7th). But the rest are really good as well.

Please don’t complain about misspelled words. It’s “too bad”, not “to bad”.

  26. @ dani, um… the spelling is intentional.
for my bit, i like Patrick Martinez’s print. subtle, yet captures the emotions of the movie

  27. Dani – did you notice that inglorious is also misspelled? And both misspellings are deliberate; so that’s why nobody else has mentioned it.

  28. The spelling is intentional by QT

  29. Great art, horrible movie.

  30. pardee is awesome. been a fan for a while. congrats to him!

  31. Dani: That’s the name of the movie…………….

  32. tarantino purposefully spelled both “inglorious” and “bastards” wrong

  40. This art is WAY better than that fucking movie… boring as hell.

  41. ““Basterds” = “Bastards””
This is a deliberate misspelling for dramatic effect.

These posters are amazing. The last one reminds me of the LSD-inspired art of the 60s and 70s.

  42. Great stuff.

I really don’t understand these idiots that diss the movie. Some people just cant cope with a movie that’s any longer than 90 minutes and dares to have clever, meaningful dialogue.
