Brain Cancer Benefit Shirt from Megabolt

I’ll tell you right now, this post is a bummer, so let’s all band together and help these guys out.  I was contacted by Steven from Megabolt Clothing about a benefit shirt they are doing for his close friend’s father, Mr. Jeff Coan.  Here is a brief blurb about Jeff:

“On March 10, 2009 Jeff was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Astrocytoma brain tumor.  This is a very fast growing aggressive form of cancer. Fortunately it was located in a place that was operable.   Jeff is currently undergoing extensive treatments and therapies at UW Hospital in Madison. The Doctors are optimistic toward his prognosis.  But he needs your prayers and support as well.  He and his family are determined to beat this enemy.”

To help with the expenses Jeff and his family have incurred, Steven has made a great Megabolt cancer benefit shirt.  They are printed on American Apparel tees, and are only $13 (approximately $6 of that will benefit the Coan family, as he got an amazing deal on the printing).  I really don’t know anywhere else you can even get a t-shirt printed on American Apparel for only $13.  Anyway, it’d be cool if any of you could help these guys out.  If you can, head over to his Etsy Shop.

EDIT:  Here’s an update/thanks from Megabolt’s Steven:

Dear OMG Posters! readers,
From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you! The response from this blog alone is amazing. I cannot wait to give the Coan Family the money that we raised together.  As I told Mitch from OMG Posters! I can’t say thank you enough.  Please keep Jeff and the Coan family in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again.

  1. This is a great shirt for a great price for a great cause. I got one already. Please show your support, even the smallest bits can really help.

  2. Thanks Mitch – great cause – ordered one for our son.

  3. Considering it has Kevin Tongs endorsement I felt I had to buy a shirt but after reading the website I agree when he says this is for a great cause. And for those wondering what megabolt is…

    Per the etsy shop:
“A tiny bit of info about Megabolt:
Megabolt is more of an idea than a thing. The idea of “Megabolt” is to promote positive lifestyle and positive thinking. That’s it. It’s about living a good life. “

  4. How’s the fit on American Apparel tees? Are they snug hipster/emo style? Regular/true fit? Or buy them a bit bigger because they shrink after washing?

  5. Thank you all so much for your support. It’s amazing!

3d- They will probably shrink like most AA if you dry them.

  6. Will they ship to Spain?

  7. Jorge-
I send you information through your website. Thanks for your support!

    – Steven Kasprzyk

  8. Had to get one. Good cause. Thank you.

  9. @3d

I was wondering the same thing and checked my closet. I’m 5’9″ and ~180lbs, and every AA shirt I had was an XL and fit normal on me so I’d say it’s a normal fit versus a slimmer fit based on what’s in my closet.

I also only hang dry my t-shirts so I’m not sure if that will effect your sizing choice.

  10. I got one! Great design and great cause!

  11. no uk shipping?

  12. @lee

  15. wish they offered XXL as i know AA stuff runs quite small. kind of a bummer for the bigger/taller fellas. i’m sure that size would cost more and such and i could just make a donation instead of complaining. hmm….
