The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Poster by Martin Ansin

The Alamo Drafthouse has just released a stunning poster for the new Terry Gilliam / Heath Ledger flick, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.  It’s a 24″ x 36″ six color screenprint by Martin Ansin, has an edition of 150, and is $35.  I doubt these will be around too long, especially with Tom Waits’ mug on them.  Visit

  1. Waaaauuuuw. I am definitely coppin’ this – damn Martin Ansin is good.

  2. Amazing illustrator, crazy good poster.

  3. Martin is amazing. When he makes a poster for a film I like or know anything about, I’ll be all over it.

  4. hands down, this movie will become a modern classic and quite probably the jewel in gilliam’s already sterling crown.

  5. I love the way he handled the type. Classy as fug.

  6. People better act quick on this one, I think it will sell out fast…

  7. I’ve regretted not picking up his previous stuff, so I had to get this one. Crazy talent. Sheesh though…shipping has gone from $8.99 for a poster a year ago to $12.99 today.

  8. shipping costs have gone up in general. i sell things and its already $2 more

  9. Gone!!!! Sold Out!!!!

  10. The movie is incredible and the poster sure does it justice. I think this will be a collecters item within a very short period of time – the movie, which has been out here in Europe for several weeks, is already cult.

  11. Can’t believe I skipped this. Saw it this morning and decided to think about it. Came back an hour later and gone. Oh well, guess I will grab some Klausen’s now instead.

  12. Hi, everyone. May i know how you guys store your posters? Lay flat in plastic art folio files? Any good ways to do so other than framing? Thanks – Will

  13. Will – check out there is a lot of info regarding art care in the forums section.

  14. Is that Richie Havens?

Shipping prices def have gone up

2 Lbs Priority Mail with Insurance(across the country) is easily 11+ dollars now, not referring to you DWL in particular, but so many complain about shipping prices when many times it truly does cost $10-15 to ship stuff these days(Priority with Insurance and/or sig conf)

  15. Yeah, USPS prices just went up again Monday. Weak.

  16. I heard on NPR (on their finance/market show) that USPS is BILLIONS in the red every year. They need to increase their fees substantially, none of this nickle/dime nonsense.

  17. Another shining example of bloated, inefficient government bureaucracy in action.

  18. Increasing fees is only a temp solution 2 a long term prob. Try really need to restructure their whole biz model. The PO is very inefficient and has way too may employees doing menial tasks…not to mention the fact they’re losing the battle against private shipping companies. Ups and fed ex have become synonymous with overnight shipping while the PO is still trying to force people to use priority mail. The PO needs a complete overhaul.
