The Prodigy Concert Poster by Emek

Emek’s new concert poster for an upcoming Singapore performance by The Prodigy is his best work in quite awhile.  I could say some things about it myself, but I think I’ll let the man speak for himself:

“The Merlion is the symbol of Singapore. It is a creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Its name is a combination of the words “mermaid” and “lion”. The fish body comes from Singapore’s ancient name back when it was a fishing village — Temasek — meaning “sea town” in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore’s original name — Singapura — meaning “lion city” in Sanskrit.  22.5″ x 30.5″ screenprint, 10 colors plus a blend.” – EMEK

I will keep you posted about release details in the near future, but just let this one sink in for awhile.

  4. Odd is the number of people bagging on this print on expressobeans. it’s madness. This print is one of the coolest EMEK prints I’ve ever seen. His (and Aaron Horkey’s) line work blows my mind.

  5. nice work emek, don’t think I’ll make it to the show, lol. but this is great man-also lookin’ 4ward to the “The Dead” Spring Tour Print. Keep up the excellent work 10 colors & a blend= 🙂

  6. A promoter talked to me about doing this show, but I turned it down because I was incredibly busy. I am glad I did, because EMEK’s poster is WAYYYYYY better than mine would have been. I keep coming back to look at the image over and over again.

  7. Same here. Unreal. Hope to see this one day in person.

  8. One of the first prints I ever owned, and it’s one of my favourites. Beautiful and I don’t think I would ever let it go.
