Will it be Obama's fault if he can't bring change, or our fault for letting him down?

^ I think the overwhelming support for Barack Obama and the art explosion that reflects that are entirely democratic.

That a community organizer has a shrewd marketing strategy and is inclusive of big business does not make him evil.

I agree that his rhetoric about the Afghani war and Pakistan is frightening. There continues to be terrible bloodshed there. But I doubt he grows the military (our economy can't handle it) and hopefully the war in Iraq will end.

He ran on a platform of change and I'm hopeful that he delivers on that promise. ->>>Don't Let Me Down, Barack.

BO,
Jon is saying he doesn't want Obama to be like every other "the man"

I don't think he was trying to contribute to the cult.
Simply by using Obama's image (in glowing metallic inks), and suggesting he might be able to do good, he may have.

But, I think the scepticism makes this work actually a step in the right direction towards "getting a grip and growing up."

Anyway . . . you might consider re-adjusting your level of pessism considering we're kind of at the bottom of the barrel and accusing everone of too much optimism probably isn't going to help.

We're all happy Obama beat McCain. But he beat him to become the President of the U.S., people. He is "the man" incarnate. He is going to grow the military. He is going to order the killing of innocent people in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is already selling out to the corporations. Get a grip and grow up and stop contributing to a deeply unhealthy and undemocratic cult of the great leader.

[...] The writing along the bottom edge of the badge are lyrics from the Beatles classic “Don’t Let Me Down”: “I’m in love for the first time. Don’t you know it’s gonna last. It’s a love that last forever. It’s a love that has no past.” Completely disgusting. Only $200! [...]

Well, I sure as heck am not complaining. Just wish I could have gotten my hands on one of these, which would have looked great on my wall. As for the Ebay flippers, there's two sides. If not for them, few would have the opportunity to purchase on the secondary market. Yeah, they're profit weasels, but I don't think there's any way to prevent it unless the artist wants to spend all of his/her time tracking them down. I still can't believe that only 12 of these things were created.
Some folks are DARNED lucky!
