New Posters and Art Prints by Justin Hampton (Onsale Info)

Justin Hampton is dropping a load of new things tomorrow.  The new stuff includes an Obama art print in two editions (with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the campaign for a last minute push), a Nikka Costa tour poster in two editions, and a collaborative art poster by he and Malleus.  All of the info is below.  These will all go up tomorrow (Friday, October 31) at noon PST.  Visit JustinHampton.com.

First up is the Obama art print, here’s what Justin had to say about this piece:

In the 2nd 2008 Presidential Debate, Senator John McCain capped off a night of dismissive behavior toward his opponent by referring to Senator Barack Obama, not by name or title, but simply, “…that one”. This image of Obama fronting various freedom fighters of the past shows the position he has taken in the gradual struggle towards equality. 1. That Nikka Costa barely looks like a Hampton. Almost as if Justin did the Nikka illustration and then Tara McPherson did the layout. Especially that type . . . and those borders . . . and the stars at the top. Very cool poster just not very Hampton.

  2. you know the obama themed posters are getting old when the artists have to rip off themselves for ideas. Justin’s Obama poster is EXACTLY the same as the cover he did for Danger Mouse’s “The Grey Album”:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b4/GreyAlbum.gif

    LAME.

  3. I don’t think it was from lack of ideas. Justin was just redoing one of his classic, iconic images with a cultural and political update. Makes it cooler, to me.

  4. I recognized that it was the grey album artist instantly. it looks awesome!!

  5. I’m not a big Hampton fan nor do I like the cartoon like look, but I like how he has some of the most influential people for civil rights and america in this print. good work justin.

  6. I looked at the comments as I thought the Grey Album straight off and wanted to see if its the same artist – I agree, it makes it uber cool especially what happened with the Grey Album being pulled etc etc plus what a great album. I like this.

  7. That one sure is an amazing illustrator.
I like the reference to the Grey Album.

  8. Yes we all need another Obama Print. This will be my 438th different obama print, great!

  9. […] Vía OMG Posters! […]

  10. I’d snag one, if I could get my hands on the Jay-Z version.
